The DA/BDA Serenity Sunday meeting is temporarily suspended while the two co-secretaries seek an alternative venue at a rent that is affordable in terms of meeting the 7th Tradition.
The meeting was a success because it was a joint DA/BDA meeting so that members who were employed on a “self-employed” contract with an employer felt able to attend, and those considering setting up their own business felt they could attend by gaining the ES&H of being in a BDA meeting.
It was also a success in terms of it being an “open”, AA-style meeting where anyone with an interest in recovery from debt could attend, such as an official from the Citizens Advice Bureau or a debt counselling organisation.
The meeting also focused on the traditions – an understanding of which helps individual recovery.
